Custom bleached white oak veneer, 10'H x 6'W x 2"D
For a Watermill, NY, residence and collaboration with Clodagh Design, this sliding door uses a hidden hardware with the purpose of having this door become an art piece for this home. The debate of the origins of this door was whether to have art or an opening for the other room... And the decision was to do both. Although enormous, this door has been engineered to weigh 160 lbs. to allow easy sliding. It was crucial the coordination with Clodagh Design to allow a harmonious proportion between elements in the space and to create unique details such as the door sneaking behind a concrete bench.
